Peer Mentoring Program

🤝 Peer Mentoring Program
What is the Peer Mentoring Program?
The Peer Mentoring Program of the Department of Nursing, Faculty of Health Sciences, Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University is a student support program designed to help newly enrolled students adapt more easily to university life and the Department of Nursing.
Within the program, volunteer students from upper years serve as Peer Mentors, sharing their experiences with new students and providing guidance throughout their transition to university life.

💙 Aims of the Program
The Peer Mentoring Program aims to help new students:
Adapt more easily to university and departmental life,
Become familiar with academic procedures,
Better understand courses, examinations, and educational processes,
Benefit from the experiences of upper-year students regarding skills laboratories and clinical practice,
Become familiar with the University’s social, cultural, and academic opportunities,
Learn about available student support services,
Benefit from the knowledge and experiences of upper-year students,
Develop a sense of belonging to the Department and strengthen peer solidarity.

👩‍⚕️ Who is a Peer Mentor?
Peer Mentors are volunteer upper-year Nursing students who support newly enrolled students during their transition to university and departmental life.
A Peer Mentor is not an academic advisor. Rather than solving academic or administrative issues on behalf of students, Peer Mentors share their own experiences and help new students find the appropriate information, resources, and support services when needed.

💬 We Adapt Together, We Learn Together!
Starting university is the beginning of a new journey. Your Peer Mentor is a fellow Nursing student who has already experienced this journey and is ready to share what they have learned and help you become familiar with your new department.

Ask questions, share your experiences, learn from your peers, and become part of the Nursing Department community! 💙🩺
The program is coordinated by the Department of Nursing Peer Mentoring Committee.
