“The Power of Women’s Hands: Inspiring Women” Event Held

The event titled “The Power of Women’s Hands: Inspiring Women”, organized by the Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University Women and Family Studies Application and Research Center, was held on March 2, 2026, at the Atatürk Cultural Center (AKM) 15 July Democracy Martyrs Hall. The event, which was conducted in a hybrid format with both face-to-face and online participation, focused on the role of women in society, leadership, and inspiring success stories.
The session was moderated by Prof. Dr. Media Subaşı Baybuğa. The speakers included Hilal Küçük Gönül (Public Prosecutor), Dr. Eriş Başaran Akça (Provincial Director of Health), Mehtap Şeniz Çahan (Chair of the TOBB Muğla Women Entrepreneurs Board), and Güfer Etyemez (Head of Düğerek Neighborhood). The speakers shared their professional experiences and highlighted the importance of women’s empowerment, leadership, and solidarity in social life.
As part of the program, the exhibition titled “Witnesses of Time: Women of Muğla from the Ottoman Era to the Republic” was also presented to participants. The program additionally featured the presentation “Atatürk and Pioneer Women”, prepared by Prof. Dr. Melek Çolak, as well as a Zeybek performance organized by the Literature Community and YÖRTÜMER, which attracted great interest from the audience.
The event, which emphasized the vital role of women in social development, was followed with great interest by participants and contributed to increasing the visibility of women’s achievements in different fields while inspiring younger generations.
