Colorectal Cancer Awareness Event Successfully Held

In order to increase public awareness and promote early diagnosis, a “Colorectal Cancer Awareness Event” was organized at our hospital. Within the scope of the event, individuals admitted to the hospital were informed about the risk factors, symptoms, importance of early diagnosis, and prevention methods of colorectal cancer.
The event was carried out in collaboration with Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Nursing, Division of Surgical Nursing, and the Faculty of Medicine, Department of General Surgery. Nursing students and healthcare professionals actively participated in the event. Visual and written educational materials, including posters and brochures, were provided to patients.
During the event, participants’ questions were answered, aiming to enhance their awareness and knowledge levels. It was emphasized that early detection of colorectal cancer significantly increases treatment success rates, and the importance of regular screening was highlighted.
As part of our efforts to improve public health, similar awareness activities are planned to continue in the future.
