Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University was established in 1996 as Muğla Health College, with the decision of the Council of Ministers dated 10/10/1996 and numbered 96/8655, within the scope of Muğla Health High School Nursing Department; In the 1997-1998 academic year, she started her education at the undergraduate level by taking students to the Nursing Department. Our school continued its education between 1997-2015 as Muğla Health High School Nursing Department. With the decree dated 25/05/2015 and numbered 2015/7723, Muğla Health School was closed and continues its education activities as the Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Nursing.

There are 8 departments in the Nursing Department of the Faculty of Health Sciences. These are Nursing Fundamentals, Internal Medicine Nursing, Surgical Diseases Nursing, Obstetrics and Gynecology Nursing, Child Health Nursing, Public Health Nursing, Psychiatric Nursing and Nursing Management Department. There are a total of 16 faculty members in our department, including 5 Professors, 8 Associate Professors and 3 Assistant Professor. In addition, there are 5 lecturers and 3 research assistant. In our department, there are practical courses as well as theoretical courses. The applications of these courses are carried out in 2 skill laboratories, 1 simulation laboratory and application areas in our faculty building.
